AAMMC Open Roles

The American Aerospace Materials Manufacturing Center is looking to hire several roles to support the set-up of our national testbed and training center, assist with the procurement of the world’s largest composites press, and establishment of advanced manufacturing capabilities under one roof in the Spokane- Coeur d’Alene, Idaho region. 

 

The Director of the AAMMC Tech Hub will implement the vision, goals, and budget approved under state and federal grants and matching funds, coordinate with academic and private sector partners to align with workforce development goals, and pursue public and private funding sources. The Director will coordinate resource allocation, and performance metrics to align with both regional needs and the center’s long-term mission. The Director will serve as the public face of the center and will provide regular updates to the governing board, engage with the broader community, and foster partnerships that promote workforce development and technological advancement. The ideal candidate will be a dynamic communicator and relationship-builder, capable of translating complex research goals into accessible, actionable initiatives while cultivating strong regional and national networks in aerospace composites.

The lead engineer, in coordination with the industry advisory board, will be responsible for design, procurement, and installation of equipment, assist with related construction, and lead the setup of manufacturing processes and new projects at the hub. In this role, the lead engineer will act as the primary engineering project manager for hub operations working closely with our industry partners including Boeing, Collins Aerospace, Toray, Syensqo and more to successful prove and scale advanced composite parts manufacturing. The lead engineer will also guide future technical direction of the hub, identifying areas of improvement, innovation, and optimization. In addition, the lead engineer will help represent the hub at events and meetings, translate technical concepts into communications for various audiences, and report on key milestones.
